We set up Shandong Weifang Sand Mine Equipment Development Research Institute in 2004, and established good business relationship with the national scientific research institute. Further salient features of the dredger are the dredger is powered by a Marine engine.

The hull is of all welded, steel construction to give the dredger the necessary strength required for dredging operations.

The hull steel plate used is CCSB (shipbuilding steel plate ).
